I mentioned a few days ago that I took some engagement pictures for Zack and Hope when they were home for Thanksgiving break. I'm slowly but surely working through them all, so I will probably be sharing lots of them over the next couple of days.
I've gone to church with Zack for several years now, and we were all so happy when he brought Hope home from Florida with him. The two met at college, and they couldn't be a better match for each other. Faith and I were looking at some pictures of Kids Fest the other day, and I saw Hope in one and pointed her out to her. "Look Faith, there's Hope." She immediately responded with, "Where's Zack?" Obviously, she thinks they belong together too :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! I know that ours will be a busy one, and we have an awful lot to be thankful for.
This is the first of a few thanksgiving dinners we will be attending. Jeanie and Grandma Hess stayed up half the night cooking for everyone. Doesn't that turkey look good...

Last night I had the pleasure of doing an engagement session with Zack and Hope. It was nice to have willing subjects for a change. At the beginning of the shoot, I told them my goal was to actually make it through a session without someone crying. Zack said he would try his best to comply.

I wanted to share some of the sweet photos of Baby Addy and her mommy.

I am super excited about a product that is releasing at 2Peas today. My friend subtle shadows. Shadows can make so much difference in a digital layout, and these are a great way to make adding them to a layout super easy and fast.
I used them on this layout below for Faithers. The papers and elements are all from Michelle's fun kit call Too Trendy.

I was soooo excited when Katie called and asked if I still wanted to take some newborn pictures of Baby Addy!!! She and Becky brought her over tonight, and she was so precious. She's about three weeks old, but she still only weighs about 8 lbs - which is less than what I weighed when I was born.
She definitely got her mommy's beautiful skin.

This is probably my favorite view of the lot right now. This is from the top, middle of the right side. I just love how big and flat our yard is going to end up being.

Now that most of the top soil is off, they actually started taking some height off of the top of the property.

They are supposed to start on the excavation work next week on our new property, so we decided to go out today and take some pictures of the ceremonial first shovel full.

I've been processing the pictures from Jacob's session yesterday, and I wanted to share a few more. Is he not so cute?!?!

My week in review...
1.) Today is Friday the 13th. I'm not really superstitious, but I've never really cared for Friday the 13th. Once I had my birthday party on Friday the 13th and it went horribly! Anything that could have gone wrong at an 8-yr-old's sleepover did! So in perspective, this was a pretty good one.
2.) Veteran's day was Wednesday, which gave us an extra day off - definitely made my week go by even faster. Plus it gave Nathan and I an extra weekday to check out house stuff.
3.) Productivity. Mom and I ran lots of errands today, and I am proud to announce I marked several things off of my to-do list!
4.) We got our building permit today. It's pink and laminated, and I like it :)
5.) I got the opportunity to take some Christmas pictures of little Jacob this morning. He was definitely a handful this time and kept me on my toes the entire session, but I think you will agree his cuteness is totally worth it! Here are few of my early favs:

Today is Digital Scrapbooking Day!!! Now this is not your regular National Scrapbooking Day - this is Digital Scrapbooking Day! As a whole, I think digital scrapbooking is still considered a minority in the hobby and crafts world; even though it is awesome and everyone should try it! hint, hint Being that it is still growing in popularity, the fact that it gets its own day to celebrate is a pretty big deal. In honor of DSD, 2Peas is have all kinds of fun activites going on all day: chats, freebies, challenges, prizes, and more. We have such an amazing group of digital peas over there, so it is sure to be lots of fun. Also, most of the designers are offering freebies or sales, so it is a great time to try out some new products.
Here are a couple of layouts that I made with some of the freebies made for DSD:

My week...
1.) For the most part this has been another busy week. Not quite as busy as the last two, but still a lot going on with the house stuff.
2.) Our ad for the current house was in the bulletin board this week. They left off the price that we included, so despite the fact that we had several phone call, several of them were simply people asking the price.
3.) I worked in the church nursery on Sunday night. Our small group is on Wednesday nights this year, so I volunteered to help out with the kids of the adult groups that meet on Sundays. I have to admit I was a little bit nervous; I really didn't know what to expect or even how many. I know Evan likes me, but I have doted on him since the day he was born and we have become good buddies. Faithers likes me, but with a title like "Fun Aunt Lori" what choice did she have? I guess just the idea of whether or not I could win over a new kid or possibly multiple new kids had me a little anxious. Well, I'm happy to report it was only me and Baby Andrew, and I think by the end of the night I had convinced him I was alright to hang out with.
4.) Daylight Savings Time. I think I'm pretty well adjusted to the new time. I'm typically a good sleeper, so I will pretty much sleep anytime I can - regardless of what my body is used to. I do have to say that this was the second year in a row that our stupid "smart clocks" have messed us up. Last week I was in the shower getting ready for church, and Nathan came running up the stairs yelling, "They did it to us again! It's 9:30!" We managed to make it to church on time, but I have to say this is getting a little annoying. I really think the clock companies should offer some kind of recall or update.
5.) Flashback Friday. With Halloween being this week, I thought it might be fun to do a little flashback to last year.

I'm so excited to announce that I was recently selected to be a part of Michelle Underwood's new Creative Team! Michelle has such a fun, youthful design style; I'm going to love working with her products. I had the opportunity to make a couple of layouts using her Vintage Holiday Memories kit, which just released this week at 2Peas.
As soon as I saw all of the awesome buttons in this kit, I knew I wanted to do something that really featured them. Here's what I came up with.

The digital morph just finished up, so I can finally share my layouts from it. I know I've talked about it before, but just for any new readers that aren't familiar with the digital morph - basically it's a digital scrapbooking version of the telephone game you used to play when you were a child. One person tells a secret to the next (or in this case shares a layout) and that person tells the next person. No one but the teller and the listener hear the message until the very end. Then you get to see how the original message ended up how it did with the final person. It's a really fun challenge, and I love to see how each person interprets the layout.
I had the pleasure of starting off both groups with this layout:

This week Carina released her new Letters of Love collection at 2Peas. It has some gorgeous papers. I used them and Mary Ann's new brushes to make this page. The pictures are from our first anniversary.
