This is a layout for Faith. She is in a phase where if we ask we what color something is, regardless of what it is, she will answer pink. If I didn't know better, I would swear that was the only colors she knows.
Journaling reads:
Pretty much from the time you started talking we would constantly ask you, “Faith, what color is this?” It was our attempt to improve your vocabulary and also help teach you your colors. By the time you were around one and a half, you could pretty much tell me the color of every ring in your play set at my house. Today is a different story. I’m not sure what happened between then and now, but nowadays when we ask you what color something is your answer undoubtedly and without hesitation is pink! Maybe it’s because so many of your things are pink and that tended to be the correct answer most of the time. Maybe we have just surrounded you in so much girly, pink stuff you actually only see pink. My guess is you just have your own stubborn way about things and like to say everything is pink. Either way, my sweet girl, I have to tell you that everything in this world is unfortunately not pink!

Well... today was the day! Overall I think everything went pretty well. I finished the half marathon in 2 hours 6 minutes and 42 seconds - a 9:40 pace.
Kyla and I got there in plenty of time, and we were both pretty pumped for the race.

This has been a pretty awesome week for me:
1.) CT's. I was asked by two other scrapbook designers at 2Peas to be on their Creative Teams and work with their products. I can't begin to tell you how excited I am about this!!! You can check out both of their blogs to see more about amazing designs:
Jen Allyson
Mary Ann Wise
2.) The half is here. The half marathon is tomorrow morning. It feels like I have been training for it for quite awhile, and I'm just excited that it is finally here.
3.) Nathan sent me flowers yesterday, and it just brightened up my week. I am working on some pictures of them to share.
4.) Kyla's wedding dress. Kyla called me this morning and asked if I would go wedding dress shopping with her, her mom, and her grandma. It meant a lot that she values my opinion that much, and it is just something fun to do. Kyla looked absolutely gorgeous in about 10 different dresses, so I would say she has some tough decisions ahead of her.
5.) The land. While I was dress shopping with Kyla, Nathan called to say that they accepted our offer on the land! Woo hoo! I was already having a pretty amazing week, and this news just put me over the top! We still have to do all the legal/closing stuff, but if all goes well we will soon be the proud, new owners of 4 acres. :)

A few more pictures of Faith to share. I'll put all of them up in a gallery once I'm finished editing them, but for now, here is your daily fix of Faithers.
Tuesday, August 18th, 2009
I'm going to have to interrupt all the Faith sharing, but it's for a very good reason. Today is my mom's birthday! Not only is she the most amazing mom in the world, but she is also one of my very best friends. So I would say that means she deserves her own post on my blog. Now I'm not going to tell you how old she is, but I will give you a clue… you would need to add 49 candles to the cutie's birthday cake below…

I'm still going through all the pictures from Saturday, but I wanted to come and share a sneak peek of some of them. These are some of my favorites so far...

My week in review:
1.) The boys won their first softball game in the tournament tonight - woo hoo
2.) Josh and Kyla got engaged!!! Kyla called me from the beach and told me that Josh proposed. Kyla and I have become pretty good friends over the summer and with our running, and I couldn't be happier that she is going to be a permanent member of the family!
3.) Wednesday was Tara's birthday. Happy Birthday Tara! If any of you don't know Tara, she is responsible for bringing the cuteness that is Faithers into this world, so she deserves some celebrating.
4.) Corn, and lots of it. Every year my Grandma Reber gets several dozen ears of corn, takes it off the cob, and freezes it. Today, we all went up to help her. We each had our own little station in the process. Dad says I even added a quality assurance step of removing any stray pieces of silk from the cobs. quality assurance… he cracks me up
5.) Tara called and asked if I wanted to watch Faith tomorrow and take some pictures of her. I am super excited. So watch for some new pics coming very soon…

I decided to do a heritage layout using some of Grandma Large's and Pap Bill's old wedding pictures. I really wanted to find a way to make the layout and still preserve the way the photos look - some were black and white, some were faded colors, and some had a vintage look to them.
Journaling reads:
January 18, 1957
On this day, Bill and Naomi pronounced their love for one another and were married as husband and wife. They both remember the day as one of the most important days of their lives. The preacher was late getting to the church, and Naomi’s brother had to go and get him. He had overslept after taking an afternoon nap. They both remember Bill’s friend showing up drunk, while inebriated trying to burn his tie, and then eventually passing out in the church. Later Bill’s cousin and some of their friends got in a car wreck on the way to the after-wedding party. Thankfully the next fifty years went much smoother than the actual day of their wedding, and despite it all Naomi is just thankful that so many of their friends and fmaily could be there on that cold winter night.

My week in review...
1.) Bryce. My incredibly talented brother-in-law sang at church on Sunday. Not only did he do an amazing job singing the song, but he wrote the lyrics too! It was seriously an awesome song with a really powerful message. He uploaded a recording of it on Facebook, the sound isn't the greatest, but you can at least hear the song for yourself. I'm sure he and Sam will be on KLove before they know it, but until then you can find them here: Reflection
2.) Lunch with Mandy. I took one of my best friend's, Mandy, out to lunch this week for her birthday. Mandy and I have known each other since we were three years old and always have the best time together. We are thinking of making our lunches together a once-a-month event.
3.) Grandma Reber. My grandma turned 81 this week, and it makes me realize how lucky I am to have such an active grandma. Even at 81 this woman doesn't miss a beat. She runs off to the beach with her friends every chance she gets. She goes to water aerobics. She gets down in the floor and cuts, sews, and quilts with me. I'm seriously so blessed and thankful that I have a fun-lovin', healthy, eighty-one year old grandma!
4.) We are Storytellers. The store where Audrey currently sells her digital scrapbooking kits is closing. {WST} is a great digital community, and I am so sad to hear that they are closing. I really loved that they, and Audrey, focused on the journaling and storytelling side of scrapbooking. I know the store really felt like home for Audrey, and she is currently trying to find a new store / figure out what she wants to do. I love being a part of her Creative Team, and I really hope she can find a new place to call home. If you have some time, please stop over on her website and read her {WST} is have a going out of business sale, so you can pick up anything in the store, including all of Audrey's amazing kits, for 50% off.

I know I have said it before, but I truly have the greatest group of scrapbooking friends at 2Peas. The digital gals there are amazingly talented, super supportive, and are always coming up with fun, new challenges for us. Recently we decided to do another round of the Digital Morph. Basically it's where we each take turns using the person's layout before as inpiration for a layout of our own. The last couple of rounds we have done a "blind" morph, which is kind of like the telephone game in that you only see the layout of the person before you and noone else's until the very end. It's pretty neat to see how the original layout started and what we ended up with. This time we split into two groups, so the process would go a little faster. It's also interesting to see the different direction each group took. You can see the full morph of both groups here:
Group A
Group B
I was part of Group B, and you can see my layout for the morph below.
