Here's a recent layout I did for Evan.

Journaling reads:
While Evan was in town visiting, a stray dog showed up in the neighborhood. Pap Bill said they dog’s name must be Midnight because we was all black, and because Pap made a fake, paper collar with the name “Midnight” written on it. Pap and Evan spent the next few days petting and feeding Midnight. I think the whole idea of a stray dog that we knew nothing about made Michelle and Grandma a little nervous, but Pap assured them he was a nice dog – based on the whole eight hours that he had known him. One afternoon Evan and I were sitting out on the front porch, and Evan was calmly petting Midnight, when out of nowhere he said aloud, “Now that is a good dog!” He said it more as an observation to himself than even to me. Our Little Man seems more and more like Pap each and every day.

Here's another heritage page of my mom and dad's wedding. Don't they look so happy and in love.

Earlier this week, I mentioned that some of Grandma Reber's family came in for a visit. The plans started with Grandma's nephew Michael and his wife Nancy. Once we all found out that they were coming, three of Grandma's sisters also decided to make the trip. It was so neat to see Grandma and her sisters together. Plus, I know it meant a lot to Michael that they all came in to see him. Of course I took the opportunity to get some pictures of the whole gang together.

Here is Michael and four of his aunts.

Today we went to a baby shower for Katie and Baby Addy. It was a very nice shower with good food and fun games. Plus, Katie and Wayne got lots of stuff to help them prepare for their new arrival.

Man this week has just flown by...

1.) Small group picnic. We had the small group picnic on Sunday. Just kind of a church dinner with some fun games to kick off the Fall small groups. Just for anyone who doesn't know, a church small group is basically just what it sounds like. On Sunday or Wednesday nights, we break into small groups to do a fellowship and bible study. It's just kind of a fun way to learn and also get to know some people at the church a little closer in a more intimate atmosphere. By the way, our small group - the young adults - totally kicked butt in the obstacle course race. I will have to try and get my hands on some picutres from that... it was pretty funny!

2.) Mom and I went to Brianna's wedding on Saturday. It was a really pretty ceremony and reception. Patty and Alan rode with us, and Patty is always a ton of fun to be around!

3.) Closing. Our land closing has been postponed. There is some committee that we have to get approval from and they don't meet again until October 7th. So our new closing date is October 9th. Not a big deal to wait another week, just a little disappointing.

4.) Michael. My grandma's nephew Michael and his wife are in town for the weekend visiting. Grandma doesn't speak to her brother, Michael's father, for various reasons and therefore hasn't seen or talked to Michael since he was a very young child. A year or so ago, Michael found out that he had all of these aunts and cousins that he really didn't know much about. He started looking them all up and reconnecting. He scheduled this trip so he could come in and meet us all. He and his wife are so sweet, and it has been a wonderful time getting to know them.

5.) Purse party! Tonight Mom and I went to Debbie's purse party. I found some awesome designer purses at a fraction of the cost. They are fab-u-lous!

This week Carina is releasing her new line called "I Remember When." It is an awesome heritage kit with all kinds of neat genealogy brushes in it. So today I designed a couple of Family Tree layouts with it.

This one is a family tree starting with my mom's parents and extending to their grandchildren.

Last week I mentioned that my friend Jen started designing some digital scrapbooking templates. Her free templates were such a big hit that 2Peas asked her to come on as one of their designers and sell the templates at their store. So now she's not only a Garden Girl, but she's also a digital designer at 2Peas!

Here's a new layout that I did for Faith using her Simple Start No. 2 template.

Journaling reads:
Sometimes it can be pretty difficult to get you to take a nap when we are all around and when you have so much to get into, but on this particular, hot day at the river lot you just couldn’t fight it once you were all cozy laying on your daddy’s chest.

Here's my week in review. Todays might actually end up being more than Five on Friday, because I have a lot to talk about. You can just consider the one's past five as bonus - because you know I love all things "bonus"

1.) My friend Shannon called me last night to let me know they were taking her son, Michael, to the children's hospital in Columbus again. Poor little guy has been diagnosed with feveral seizures. Several times he has actually stopped breathing during them, but thankfully this time he did not require a breathing tube. Please just pray that they get his medicine straightened out or that the little guy grows out of them soon!

2.) Taylor Swift and this whole Kanye West mess. For those of you that read my blog often, you know I'm a big Taylor Swift fan. She seems like such a sweet girl, she writes amazing lyrics, and I just overall like her. What Kanye did was ridiculous and would have been hurtful to anyone, but to do it so someone so young and sweet like Taylor is just awful! Some celebrity that they were interviewing said something like, "How could he do that to her - it's like stepping on a puppy!" My thoughts exactly! He apologized and that is all well and good, but to me - he ruined her moment, and that's something she can never get back.

3.) Thug Story. Ok, so I'm still on my Taylor Swift soap box for a moment... If you haven't seen it, you should go over to Taylor's website and see the video she made called Thug Story. It is hilarious! Taylor Swift

4.) This week I turned 26. I'm still getting birthday wishes and cards in the mail. I just want to add one more great-big thank you to all of my friends and family!

5.) Breaking Free. Our women's bible study started back up this week. This time we are doing Beth Moore's book called Breaking Free. If you are looking for a good bible study, I highly recommend Beth Moore's books. I loved the first one, and I'm really excited to get started on this one.

6.) I had lunch with Mandy this week. We just always have such a good time chatting and catching up.

7.) Milo came home a couple days ago with a great big gash in his front, left leg. It was starting to look worse, so we decided to take him to the vet today. They cleaned it all out and gave us some antibiotics for him. He is going to stay with Mom and Dad for awhile, or at least until he heals up some. Poor little guy just gets in too many fights at our house.

We met with the dozer guy last night to discuss some things we want to do with the land. For the most part it is pretty clear and flat, but there is a definite slope to the property. We are hoping to level that out some and raise the area where we would actually be putting our house. So while we were out there I took the opportunity to take some pictures. I'm hoping to get some shots at each stage in the process from the way it is now until the house is complete.

Here is a view of the property from the left, front corner.

25 and 365 days... that's how old I am today. As much as I love birthdays, I'm starting to get tired of this whole getting older thing. So to ease my anxiety about turning 26 Nathan said we could start counting my age in days from now on.

Overall, I had a really great day. I took the day off from work, because noone should have to work on their birthdays. I slept in and just took it easy all day. I had lots of cards and birthday wishes! I'm so luck to have such amazing family and friends!!!

So I finally got Faith's gallery all uploaded. Note to self - ask Justin about making a bulk uploader!

Here is the link to the complete gallery:
Faith Turns Two

And just for kicks, I thought I would share a few more...

I got all of Faith's pictures finished up, so I thought I would take the next couple of days to share a few more of my favs.

Mom's birthday was almost a month ago, and Dad's was a couple weeks ago, but tonight was the first chance we all had to celebrate together. Apparently some people find golfing more important than their mother's birthday. Frankly, I would never do such a thing. he he So finally tonight, we all went to Outback to celebrate.

I'm not sure why, but I always seem to forget my camera in the car when we go to restaurants, so I end up taking pictures in the parking lot! This was one of those times. At least I got the evening captured at some point.

Happy Birthday Mom and Dad! Sorry it took us so long - I blame Justin :)

Today was a pretty good day. This morning Kyla and I went for a run. We did seven miles total, which felt really good.

We had hopes of watching the WVU game in the afternoon, but unfortunately it wasn't televised (which frankly is complete nonsense). But we were able to listen to them win on the radio. Go Mountaineers

After the game, Faithers and I went for a little walk. It actually took quite a bit of time to circle around the block, because we were constantly making pit stops to check out the scenery. At one point she decided to pick up the pace and said, "Let's run." So we ran for like three seconds, and then, breathing heavily, she said, "OK, let's walk..." After she caught her breath, "Let's run." This cycle went on for about 10 minutes, and then she got distracted by something else. She never fails to crack me up! Of course Fun Aunt Lori brought her camera along on the walk, so I have pictures of both the "running" and the "walking" which I plan to scrapbook soon. But for now, here's one of her just walking along with LaLa

This week went by so quickly, that I'm not sure I can even come up with five things for the recap, so instead, I decided to share a couple pictures from Faith's two-year-old session.

Faith has dimples on her shoulders. She's had them since the day she was born. I was trying to get some good shots of them, but I didn't quite get the focus I wanted. I like the shot anyways though...

This is the quilt that I made for my mom. She picked it out and we made it together, but it's one that is slotted to stay at her house permanently, so I refer to it as "her quilt". The fabric is Moda's Cranberry Wishes line and a nine block pattern.

This is the second installment of Project Mania, and I have another quilt to share. This one is made with the Sunwashed line by Clothworks. The pattern came free with the fabric kit or you can download it off of their site. The blocks and borders are all pieced, and then I hand appliqued the pink flowers and the scallop border.

One of my digital designers, Carina is hosting Project Mania for the month of September. I have a list of projects that I've been meaning to get to or at least blog about, so I'm taking this opportunity to work on some of them and play along. So hopefully, you will get see and read about some fun cool projects this month.

In order to formerly kick off Project Mania, I thought I would start by sharing some of the quilt projects that I have finished up recently.

This quilt was done with Moda's At Water's Edge fabric line and a fairly simple pattern.

John, Michelle, and Evan head back to NJ today. So I went out earlier this afternoon to spend a little more time with my favorite Little Man. They spent the day relaxing, watching movies, and gathering up all of their stuff. It can take some time to gather 60 or so little Gormiti men strewn about a house.

He fed the turtle some of the worms he and Uncle Larry had dug up the day before.

Evan loves the river lot. He loves riding the jet ski; he loves cooking things over the fire; and he just loves being outside. He's actually told me before that the river lot is his favorite part of being in West Virginia. So whenever he comes in, we always try to make sure that he gets to spend at least one day out there enjoying all that WV has to offer.

Nathan left for Roanoke today, and I miss him already! The only good thing about today is that I have both of my two favorite little buddies to keep me company. That's right, both of them! Faith's daddy is also playing softball this weekend, so I got to keep Faith all day while her mommy was at work. This also happened to be the weekend that Evan and his family are in for a visit. So I had both of them to hang out with and keep me busy. Talk about cuteness overload... or is it double trouble...

Tonight we finally got a chance to celebrate Tara's birthday. I say finally because her birthday was actually August 12th, and obviously it is now September. Regardless of when it was though, we all had a good time. Jeanie fixed homemade pizza, and we all just spent the evening hanging out.

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009
This handsome fella is celebrating his birthday today. Now he isn't as young as he was in this photo, and he doesn't own a motorcycle anymore. But he is retired and living the good life!

Happy Birthday Daddy! I love you!!!
