I made this layout as part of the 1 Kit, 4 Ways post for DHD's blog. It's amazing how many looks your can create from this one little mini kit. You can check out the post here: 1 Kit, 4 Ways – Apron Strings Mini Kit
Journaling reads:
I always look forward to days when Wes and Tara call and ask if I can babysit Faith. I have so much fun just chasing her around the house. We pretty much always end up having an impromptu photo session at some point during the day. As long as I provide her with cereal or some type of distraction, she’s usually happy to appease me and my inner shutterbug.

They have completed most of the walls at this point - both interior and exterior. They added the outside wall that closes in the staircase on the front of the house.
Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010
We stopped out at the house on our way home, so I was able to take a few more pictures of the progress from today. I'm am very excited to announce that... we have stairs!!!

They are continuing to add walls to the second story. All of the walls in the back of this photo are new from today.

This week Jen released a new Vanity Fair collection at DHD. All of her Vanity Fair collections have been filled with these rich, sophisticated colors that I just love, and Cerulean did not let me down. The papers are just gorgeous!
Here are a couple of layouts that I made featuring the new kits.
This one is with some of our engagement photos.

I'm working on getting caught up on my P365 album. So here are a few layouts about my January...
Journaling reads:
Jan 8
Nathan and I have become big fans of V8 Splash Diet. One night when I was drinking some of the Berry Blend, I mentioned that this would taste really good as a popsicle. The next morning, I woke up and found this in our freezer. Nathan’s always so sweet about surprising me and encouraging all of my crazy ideas.
Jan 9
New recipe #2 for 2010 was Pampered Chef’s ham bundles. I made them the night that Marvin and Jeanie were coming over to watch the WVU basketball game. Unfortunately the Mountaineers didn’t win, but the ham bundles were scrumptious.
Jan 10
I woke up this morning with such a sore neck. It hurt to even think about moving it. Unfortunately, chiropractors aren’t open on Sundays, so we picked up a ThermaCare heat wrap, and I basically laid around all day. It didn’t fix my neck, but definitely made it feel better and helped me get through the day.

After a week of snow and bad weather, they were finally able to work on the house again today. I'm sure they spent most of the morning shoveling out the six inches of snow that had accumulated on our floor.

We found out this week that Maryann Wise is coming to DHD! I had the pleasure of working with her at 2Peas, and I am so excited to see her new products and all the goodies she is going to release at DHD. She shared her Double Take brushes with us, and they were just perfect for some layouts I was working on for Grandma Large and Pap Bill.
Journaling is from the questionaire that I gave Pap:
What first attracted you to Naomi?
Bill: Her cute little behind and her wanting to cuddle all the time. Her family was big and most were good people. Her innocence about the way people think and act, and she has since educated herself and is a pretty good judge of people.

I got to spend some time with Faith today while the guys were at the gym. Of course, I had to snap a few pictures of her throughout the day.

They were finally able to get some work done on the house today. They started adding the second story subfloor.

In honor of Valentine's Day coming up, I decided to scrapbook a few of our old Valentine's Day photos. These are from 2006, when we were still engaged.
Journaling reads:
We decided to spend Valentine’s Day in our new house, even though we hadn’t moved in yet. I arrived a little early in order to get things ready for dinner. I was pretty tickled when I walked into the kitchen to find this *sweet* surprise waiting for me. I’m not quite sure how long it took him to get it all laid out, but it certainly made this one Valentine’s Day I will never forget.

Today Michelle released her new kit called Beautiful Ending.
Here's the layout that I created with it for Faith.
The journaling reads:
Faith sure did look cute as Pebbles for Halloween, and as much as we liked her as a red-head, we were all glad to see her back as the Faithers we know and love.

It's still pretty cold out and there is lots of snow on the ground, but Kendell's guys managed to get a lot done in spite of all that. They said they really appreciated us clearing the snow out, and that it saved them a few hours of work this morning.
Today they completed all of the interior walls of the first floor. The room on the left is the sunroom, and the room on the right is our mudroom.

My family all went to Justin and Heather's house to watch the Superbowl. Drew Breeze was Nathan's fanatsy quarterback this year, so we decided to root for the Saints.
Saturday, February 6th, 2010
So unfortunately the weather predictions were correct, and we got quite a bit of snow yesterday. The new house was pretty well covered.
Friday, February 5th, 2010
Yesterday, they placed the layout for the first floor. From this picture, you can actually kind of see where all of the room will be placed.
Thursday, February 4th, 2010
Today they started framing in the garage.
Thursday, February 4th, 2010
They put up the other side of our two-story family room.
Thursday, February 4th, 2010
For any of you that know us well, you know that we have had a long road getting utilities to the house. They finally started work today on getting the ditch opened up and the lines run from the neighbors house.
Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010
They're continuing to frame in the house and set up some of the walls.

This week Carina released her Design 365 Color Kit 2. The kit has some gorgeous papers and some fun photo masks in it. Here's a layout that I created using the kit:

This month the official challenges at DHD are starting up. I love scrapbook challenges! They push you to try new things or will give you an idea or inspiration that you may have never thought of on your own. Oh yea, and there are prizes and free stuff!!!
You can check out all of the DHD challenges on the Challenge Forum
There are four new challenges this month.
Swatch Challenge - where you are given a sample color combo, and asked to use it in a layout.
Inspiration Challenge - a DHD decorator will share something that everyone can use as an ispiration to draw from for a layout. This month Heather selected an image from the new Fox series called Human Target.
Journaling Challenge - Since this month is all about love and Valentine's Day, write to or about someone you love without actually using the word love. I think this one sounds pretty cool!
And last but not least...
Photography Challenge (Hosted by Decorator Lori Pickens!!!) - The challenge is called Getting Up Close and Personal. For the challenge, you are asked to take an up close or tightly cropped photo and create a layout with it. I love the way that tightly cropped photo can focus on the emotions of the face or the details of the little hand clutching a toy, and that's what I wanted to focus on for this challenge.
If you didn't notice by the big, bold letters above... I'm hosting the Photography Challenge this month, so I really hope that you will play along!!! So here's a little inspiration to get you thinking. This is one of my favorite pictures of Faithers!!!
